MEAL FAQs

When providing meals, the most important thing is not to stress about it. Our teenagers are teenagers – and they will eat most anything. I have some FAQ and answers below!

FAQs

Q: How many people should I prepare for?
A: We usually say no more than 15.

Q: Do I have to cook?
A: Absolutely not. You can grab 4-5 pizzas, sandwich stuff, or a bucket of chicken and some mac and cheese and we will be full and happy 🙂

Q: What do people usually make?
A: You have free reign. Whatever you know how to make or want to make will be just fine. Some suggestions: soup/salad/sandwiches, casseroles (lasagna, etc), potato bar with chili, soft tacos, spaghetti, quesadillas, chicken/vegetable pie.

Q: What time do you all usually eat?
A: We aim for 11:45, but we are tiny and flexible. We can work around how much time you need after church to prepare for us.

Q: Dietary Concerns?
A: We have two vegetarians. This means that it would be very nice if some of the meal was untouched by meat – eggs and cheese are fine. (I can help if you need ideas on this.)

Q: Drinks/desserts/plates/cups?
A: Up to you. We can use dishes in the kitchen, but they will have to be washed. We have some paper plates and cups in the pantry. Desserts are always fun, but never required. We have unlimited access to clean water – so other drinks are also fun, but not required.

Q: Can I be reimbursed?
A: YES, keep your receipts and you can submit a reimbursement. If you are confused, I will fill out the paperwork for you.

Q: What EXACTLY does “providing a meal” include?
A: Setting food out, eating and having fellowship with us, and then helping us clean up. You get extra youth points for taking out the trash to the far away trashcan, but it is not necessary.
